The Professor's Apprentice

adventuresinlearning:

School is a training ground, but it should be a learning environment. Most rules governing students at school, have little to do with respect, tradition, safety or learning.

They are about control and power, and adults’ fear of having real dialogue with young people.

Every generation has the right to revise, improve, critique, or abandon traditions, values, habits and conditions of society. This starts either by breaking the rules, and rebelling or living and learning in a truly democratic society that believes young people are able to have thoughts of their own and deserve the right to be listen to and be engaged in discussion about rules and traditions that govern them. If you believe other wise, then you really need to ask your self why.
